The National Park of La Maddalena, made up of seven main islands that guard an immense natural heritage is positioned between the temperate climatic area of Europe and the subtropical of Africa, these features added to the morphological peculiarities of the territory have allowed the adaptation of a considerable amount of plant and animal species. The “Macchia mediterranea” (Mediterranean Scrub) that is a typical ecosystem of these areas, covers the islands with a lush mantle. Among the trees and shrubs most common species we can find in our explorations there is the strawberry tree (Arbutus unedo), the holm oak (Quercus), mastic tree (Pistacia lentiscus), rock rose (Cistus monspeliensis), Phoenician juniper (Juniperus phoenicea), myrtle (Myrtus communis), broom flowers (Erica scoparia), helichrysum (Helichrysum italicum), lavender (Lavandula stoechas).
That video was realized in spring, in the island of Caprera, the most luxuriant of La Maddalena archipelago (north-east of Sardinia – ITALY). I usually suggest to visit these places not only in summer time but better in months like April and May or in September and October, for obvious reasons connected with the touristic overpopulation and the climate which could be extremely good for sea and land excursions. The wild goats of Caprera islands
The dream of the beetle
The location where this other video was shooted is the water reservoir of the island of Caprera, north-eastern coast of Sardinia, the protagonists are a dragonfly and a wasp, the dramatic genre (tending to horror), although the harsh law of the jungle should be interpreted without too languid intellectualism. Is always the same old story: reproduction, hunting, death … life! It was another beautiful day spent listening to distant hums, observing the marvel that the earth offers us every day in the outdoors!
